Congratulations to Eyerusalem Meaza who won 2nd place in the 34th Annual Congressional Arts Competition! The award was given out by Congressman Don Beyer last night at the NAEA building ceremony in Alexandria. She was one place away from having her photo, "Laundry Day" in the US Capitol for one year. Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
