APS to Showcase Student Work in Annual Words Out
The Arlington community is invited to the annual Words Out Loud: Celebrating the African American Read-In, honoring excellence in our students and families, taking place Wed, March 2, at 6 p.m. in the Wakefield High School Cafeteria.
Words Out Loud: Celebrating the African American Read-In recognizes the work of aspiring middle and high school student authors across Arlington Public Schools. The event is an extension of the National Council of Teachers of English African American Read-In which honors the literary contributions of African American authors.
A primary goal of Words Out Loud is to recognize student authors by including their writing in the celebration of renowned African American writers. This year, the event has been expanded to recognize excellence throughout the APS community using the theme “Over here in Arlington being excellent!”
