2016 VR 360 Video

Drew Model's 2016 Testing Music Video

How is this video different from our past videos?
First, the teachers at Drew Model School decided to do something this year that nobody else in Arlington has done.  They decided to make a Virtual Reality 360 Degree Music Video.  Yikes!  It was both ambitious and crazy.  But, they knew the students were worth it.

Can we watch it on our computer through YouTube?
Yes, you can visit YouTube on a desktop or laptop computer, find the video and watch it.  However, you are doing it wrong if you do that.  The first thing you will notice is that the video is really blurry and doesn't work right on a computer monitor.  The video codecs on YouTube have not caught up with amateur, prosumer video cameras; therefore, the video severely degrades when played on a computer monitor through YouTube.  So, please...just don't do it this way.  We will cry if you do!
Fine!  So how are we supposed to watch it then!?
There are three ways to watch the video the way it was meant to be seen! :)
#1: The first way is very, very easy!  Visit YouTube on your cell phone, search for "Drew Model" and find the "Stressed Out" music video.  Play the video on your cell phone and move the phone around to see everything.  If you watch the video this way, the resolution is about 480p.  That means it is better than watching it on a computer monitor but still not full HD.  It is the quick and easy method.
#2: Install the Ricoh Theta S app on your smartphone.  Visit Ricoh's website for the appropriate link:  https://theta360.com/en/support/download/.  Once it is installed on your smartphone as an app, you just need to download the HD video from our website and put that on your phone (see link below).  Apple iPhone users will have to use iPhoto on their computer to move the video file from their computer to the "Camera Roll" section on their phone.  Be sure you change your setting on iTunes to sync videos from iPhoto.  Once the video is on your phone, you can launch the Theta+ Video app, select the video from your Camera Roll, and let it convert it.  Not only can you watch it in full HD moving your phone around, you can also tell the Theta app that you want to view it with VR goggles and it will split the screen for you.  It is a bit of work, but trust us, it is the BEST way to experience the video.
Here is the link to download the full HD video from our website:  http://blaketippens.com/stressedout/
#3: Install the Ricoh Theta S program on your laptop or desktop computer - it works on both PC and MAC.  Visit Ricoh's website for the appropriate link:  https://theta360.com/en/support/download/.  Once you have it installed on your computer, you just have to download the full HD video (link below).  Then, run the Theta program and drag the video into the Theta window.  You will get the full experience and you will notice the quality is much better than what you would see on YouTube.
We hope you enjoy the music video!  You think this is cool?  Lol...wait until you see what we have planned for next year!!!
